MICHAEL GNAT was honored to be named a 2009 Person of the Year by NYTheatre.com. Recent NYC stage: Joe/Dr. Morgan in Heather Violanti's "An Apple a Day" (New Perspectives); Al/Marbury/BB in Eddie Antar's "The Navigator" and Cornish in "Miss Lulu Bett" (WorkShop); AEgeon in "Comedy of Errors" and Don Armado in "Love's Labours Lost" (DrillingCompaNY); Pigeon in "The Riverside Symphony" (Ignited States; Planet Connections 'Outstanding Actor' Award); and Blake in Mike Folie's "Slave Shack" (Algonquin). Other major roles include T.D. Rice in Hank Meyerson's "Jump Jim Crow" (MITF) and Malvolio in "Twelfth Night" (DrillingCompaNY). Michael was an inaugural Innovative Theatre (IT) Award nominee, for Edward Manning’s "Titus Lucretius Carus," and shared a Spotlight On Award for "Kiwi Dreams" by Reneé Flemings. Feature film roles include white-collar criminal Wall Street Jimmy in "Off Jackson Avenue" and yuppie would-be coke dealer Tim in "Bobby G. Can’t Swim." He can also be seen (via iTunes) as the Director of the Remaining Families Coalition on Onion News Network's amazing “News from the Year 2137” [AEA, SAG, AFTRA]
